DIY: My Very Own WRECK THIS JOURNAL (inspired craft) |Art/Crafting

Are you that type of person who likes to wreck things their own way? Well now you can wreck whatever you want, however you want without people getting mad and/or annoyed!(I don’t know about you, but that sounds like a dream to me! :p) Today I am going to be showing you how to make your very own wreck this journal. It’s a pretty simple procedure I just wanted to show you guys the idea and how I do mine. If you didn’t already know, Wreck this Journal is a real journal that shows you how to wreck it. I don’t have it, but I do love the idea as I have seen some people do it! I really hope you guys like this DIY and Stay aweSAM! (I just want to say that I did not come up with the idea of WRECK THIS JOURNAL at all! I just came up with the idea to create my very own version, Here is the link if you want to order the original/actual book: http://www.amazon.com/Wreck-This-Journal-Black-Expanded/dp/0399161945/ref=pd_bxgy_b_img_z )

What you will need:
A notebook(the more worn out, the better)
Paper
Pencils/pens/markers/etc.(NO ERASERS, THE MESSIER THE BETTER!)
A some what messed up or creative mind :p

Steps:
1:Think of some ideas for something to do on each page to wreck it. (jot them down) You can keep adding onto the list later on.

2:Start writing them on each page using your writing materials. Be creative, use different fonts, you could make some of it neat and others messy, use different materials, and just have fun with it. To put my own twist on it, On the last 10 pages I saved space for a list of THINGS I'VE WRECKED!

3: Decorate the cover of the notebook and your done! On my cover i wrote ‘Wreck-It SAM’, to (you know) sound like ‘Wreck-It Ralph’.

You can keep adding to the notebook later on and now it’s time to wreck it!!!!!!! (finally! :))

DIY TFIOS plaque| Art/Crafting

I finally watched and read The Fault in Our Stars!!! I loved it so much, I love the way John Green just told the truth through fiction and just captured life in a way that was so painful yet filled with a little forever. I could just go on and on about it(maybe i’ll do a book review) but I think it’s time to get on with the art. The book and the movie just inspired me so much that I wanted to do some art based on it!(BTW: I also saw the OKAY? clouds on the internet but I wanted to make it my own by putting it on canvas, so yes I did get inspiration from other places :))
What you will need:
A canvas
Dark Blue(or any dark colour, but im going with the original),white, and black acrylic paint
Paint Brushes
Water
Recommended:
Palet
Newspaper
Black Permanent marker

1. Sketch the basic shape of the 2 clouds on the canvas. I suggest drawing the lumps with it, even if you will cover some of it with the paint, at least you know how you want it to look and that is the idea it will give you.
2. Mix Your dark blue and white to make a sky blue. Remember not to make it too light so that the white cloud is still very separated from the background. Paint the canvas (I usually use more water than you are supposed to for acrylic, but I think it just gives me the consistency that I want. So you can add as much of the water and of the colour as you like.) without covering the whole of the clouds as the basic sketch will at least give you an idea of where they are supposed to be.
3. To give the artwork a bit more detail and texture you are going to want to add streaks of the dark blue to the light blue. To do that you are going to want to start by dashing some lines of the dark blue across the canvas, then blend it with more water and the sky blue.(this is where using more water comes in handy as it helps you blend it together in a better way)
4. Paint the black cloud first because it is overlapping the white cloud on the cover which makes it easier. (You may look at the picture of animated clouds or the cover to get an idea.)
5. Then do the white cloud.
6. While waiting for the clouds to dry you can paint the sides/ the boarder of your canvas. I suggest using either the sky blue, dark blue, or black.
7. Write “Okay?” on the black cloud with white paint and use a smaller brush(try to give it a handwritten feel.) You may use a pencil first.
8. On the white cloud use black paint and a smaller brush or a black permanent marker to write “Okay.” (again, try to give it a handwritten feel.) You may use pencil first.

9. Fix any mistakes, trace the clouds if you want to, finish it of with any little finishing touches, and your done!

DIY Gift: BFF Booklet| Art/Crafting

Hey Hey Hey's! Today I am going to be showing you how to make a personal gift and do it yourself! I just think that gifts you made yourself are just so much more memorable and valuable then store bought ones. If you are making this for someone you are really close to you can put it together with some other stuff, but just on it's own it means so much! I did get some inspiration from some youtube videos, but I put my own twist on them. I hope you enjoy this DIY and Stay AweSAM!

What you will need:
26 cards
Scissors/Paper trimmer
Sticker Paper
Pens/Markers
Binding Rings or Ribbon
Optional: Embelishments and decor

1. Cut your sticker paper into strips that are 2 inches wide until you have 13.
2. Seperate those strips into strips that are 5 1/2 inches long.(I recommend keeping one as a measurement tool so that they all turn out the same measurement) Once you start getting the hang of it you can do more at a time.
3. Wrap them around the cards starting from the back, so that the excess(which you can cut off) is in the back of the card. 2 of the cards should be flipped on the print side so that you have 2 separate cover pages.
4. Put aside the 2 title pages and split the deck into 2(12 each). Keep in mind the order of the deck, so separate the red and the blue, the numbers that are the same, and any other similarities in the cards.
5. On 12 of them write things you love about that person. On the other 12 write quotes about your relationship with them or quotes that represent you and that person. Then you can decorate the pages to make them look a bit more personal and cute! On the back of each card you can draw or write something and do the same on every card do give it a set-type of feel.
6. Decorate the 2 title pages to say “12 things I love about you!” and “12 Quotes”.
7. Punch 2 holes into all the cards. When you punch them make sure all the little excess you folded over is on the side you are punching 2 holes in, so keep that in mind when you are writing on them. (Again, I recommend having a sample and you can use the joker card for that)

8. Bind all the cards with either ribbon or binder rings and your done!!!

Adding Contrast This Summer| Fashion and Beauty

Contrast in fashion and beauty is playing with the opposites. If your going for a contrasted look this summer keep reading!

One way to do it is adding contrast with your accessories or nails. Usually adding contrast between light and dark colors is the easiest way to do it.Through clothing it can be with the different bases, textures, prints, colors, and so much more.

There are many ways to add contrast in fashion and beauty, so if you have any question just put them in the comments below! (Oh and stay aweSAM)

2 new Cutting items!| Art/Crafting

Hey Hey Hey's! My 2 new cutting items from amazon just arrived, I haven't used them much but they seem really useful. I think after I use them a bit more I might do a review about them. I do love cutting items and tools because I think they are crucial for any crafter, scrapbooker, or anyone who just likes getting creative with things!

The first thing I got was a cutting set. This has basic cutting tools(and some other tools like scrapers for a cleaner look) that includes things I have bought separately before and this seems really useful in the sense that it's everything(cutting tools) that I think any basic crafter needs and maybe even for people who want to have an easier time creating things every once in a while. Here is the link:   http://www.amazon.com/Cricut-7-Piece-Tool-Cutting-Machines/dp/B0013L9NN0/ref=pd_ybh_5

The next thing I bought is a scrapbooking trimmer but is very useful for any other straight cuts you need to make like for projects and other things. It is basically a hard cutting mat with a blade and a ruler attached to it. The one I got has measurements and a floral design(which makes gives it a bit more of a personal touch) on it. Here is the link: http://www.amazon.com/Fiskars-Portable-Scrapbooking-Trimmer-196920-1001/dp/B0017KYE5Y/ref=pd_ybh_5
All in all these are things that I feel are very useful. As I use it more, as I said I want to do a review on it to run down it's quality level and other important things that I will find out as I use it. Hope this was a helpful post to crafters and Stay AweSAM!

Distance Means so Little when Someone Means so Much|Simply Life

When I was in 3rd grade something unforgettable happened, someone came my way and left (physically not mentally), it all felt like it happened in a split second. My BFFLTEWEWH(Best Friend For Like Toats Ever Without Exceptions Whatever Happens(aka Anika)) had to move practically half way across the world. I remember every little memory... Oh that shiny red slide, that cold sip, that jump, and those girly screams that got us in trouble! I remember it all like it was yesterday, the hard part is that is only the back story. Now, I realise that distance is only a test of friendship because till this day we are still the best of friends. Sure, distance may change things and it sure made things a lot harder, but one thing it that can't change is our friendship... <3 <3 <3 <3

Style/Finding Your Style| Fashion and Beauty

Finding yourself through fashion is capturing yourself through clothes. As you know fashion to me is a form of self-expression. There are many different elements in fashion to help you find your style. Some examples would be: the way you put together outfits, colors, prints, items, textures, contrast schemes, and so much more. Your style represents you, so be you, be true, and stay AweSAM!!
