DIY TFIOS plaque| Art/Crafting

I finally watched and read The Fault in Our Stars!!! I loved it so much, I love the way John Green just told the truth through fiction and just captured life in a way that was so painful yet filled with a little forever. I could just go on and on about it(maybe i’ll do a book review) but I think it’s time to get on with the art. The book and the movie just inspired me so much that I wanted to do some art based on it!(BTW: I also saw the OKAY? clouds on the internet but I wanted to make it my own by putting it on canvas, so yes I did get inspiration from other places :))
What you will need:
A canvas
Dark Blue(or any dark colour, but im going with the original),white, and black acrylic paint
Paint Brushes
Water
Recommended:
Palet
Newspaper
Black Permanent marker

1. Sketch the basic shape of the 2 clouds on the canvas. I suggest drawing the lumps with it, even if you will cover some of it with the paint, at least you know how you want it to look and that is the idea it will give you.
2. Mix Your dark blue and white to make a sky blue. Remember not to make it too light so that the white cloud is still very separated from the background. Paint the canvas (I usually use more water than you are supposed to for acrylic, but I think it just gives me the consistency that I want. So you can add as much of the water and of the colour as you like.) without covering the whole of the clouds as the basic sketch will at least give you an idea of where they are supposed to be.
3. To give the artwork a bit more detail and texture you are going to want to add streaks of the dark blue to the light blue. To do that you are going to want to start by dashing some lines of the dark blue across the canvas, then blend it with more water and the sky blue.(this is where using more water comes in handy as it helps you blend it together in a better way)
4. Paint the black cloud first because it is overlapping the white cloud on the cover which makes it easier. (You may look at the picture of animated clouds or the cover to get an idea.)
5. Then do the white cloud.
6. While waiting for the clouds to dry you can paint the sides/ the boarder of your canvas. I suggest using either the sky blue, dark blue, or black.
7. Write “Okay?” on the black cloud with white paint and use a smaller brush(try to give it a handwritten feel.) You may use a pencil first.
8. On the white cloud use black paint and a smaller brush or a black permanent marker to write “Okay.” (again, try to give it a handwritten feel.) You may use pencil first.

9. Fix any mistakes, trace the clouds if you want to, finish it of with any little finishing touches, and your done!
